London A La Mode- Neurotica

made for lunging

Jack Frost KEEP OUT

London A La Mode is the latest Pop-Up concept to reach London town. The space is available to lemony fresh design talent to showcase their wears to international buyers, and shoppers looking for their latest bit of stuff. One of the most exciting brands to Pop-Up is the London-based, concept driven Neurotica. What's really exciting here is that the label is as wearable as it is creative. Taking inspiration from nature, wild creatures and the beauty in the everyday, the S/S 2010 taster collection entitled "Week of Wonders" features original illustrations of an entire menagerie of all creatures great and small. A bright and beautiful colour palette ranging from dusty yellow to violet is sure to arouse interest in preparation for the full collection launch towards the end of this month. In an extended shout-out to mother nature, the garments are all made using natural custom woven fabrics.
At a time when fashion continues to rub up against the medium of film, the brand have produced a 2-minute motion-picture presentation of their A/W 2009/10 lookbook (see images above). Think Bat for Lashes slash Coraline, and you may find yourself in close proximity to Neurotica's dark place. Possibly a dusky lagoon, or a dark hillside. Either way, It's freaky and I like it.
